Even though prices won't be made public, Western Australia's Argyle Diamond mine says it's made a record profit for a collection of pink diamonds. Argyle produces over 90 per cent of the world's pink diamonds and sells its best stones each year through an exclusive world-wide tender process. Business manager Josephine Archer says this year's collection of 55 stones was highly sought after.

"This year we had the highest grossing tender ever in the 26-year history of the Argyle pink diamonds tender," she said. "We also received our highest bid ever on a single stone, so broke records on two fronts, so it was a very exciting day."The top stone in the collection was a 2.02 carat, round, purplish-pink diamond named Argyle Mystra.
